Elenger to deliver three more LNG cargoes
Elenger, the largest privately owned energy company in Finland and the Baltic region, will deliver three additional liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes from the United States to the Port of Inkoo in Finland in November and December this year.
“Most of the natural gas required for the upcoming heating season was already delivered during the spring and summer through ports in Finland and Lithuania. At the same time, contracts have also been concluded for the remaining volumes, meaning that natural gas supplies for our customers are fully secured for the coming heating season,” said Gints Brakovskis, CEO of Elenger Latvia.

“Although European natural gas storage levels are currently lower than usual, the availability of natural gas remains sufficient both across Europe as a whole and in the Finnish and Baltic region. LNG supplies from the United States to Europe continue to increase, while European terminals have sufficient capacity to receive these cargoes. In addition to regular deliveries to the Inkoo and Klaipėda terminals, the region’s energy security is significantly strengthened by the Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage facility in Latvia, which serves as an important reserve for meeting natural gas demand in the Baltic states,” Brakovskis added.
This year, Elenger will deliver a total of 11 LNG cargoes to the Finnish and Baltic region – seven to the Port of Inkoo in Finland and four to the Klaipėda LNG terminal in Lithuania. The company stores natural gas at the Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage facility in Latvia as well as in underground gas storage facilities in Poland.
Elenger sources natural gas from suppliers in the United States and Norway. Of the LNG deliveries planned for this year, five cargoes are from Norway, with the remaining cargoes scheduled to arrive from the United States.
Elenger is the largest private energy company in the Baltic States and Finland, with operations covering the entire energy value chain, from trading and production to delivery to end customers. The company serves more than 450,000 customers and employs more than 1,000 people.
Elenger supplies its customers with Western-origin natural gas and renewable biomethane and operates gas distribution networks in Estonia, Latvia and Poland, with a combined length of 9,000 kilometres. The company also sells electricity, including green electricity generated at its solar parks, and is actively engaged in international energy trading.
Elenger is owned by investment company Infortar, whose shares are listed on the Main List of the Nasdaq Tallinn Stock Exchange.
