“We believe that the entry of a new market player will certainly benefit gas consumers in Latvia, providing people with the opportunity to choose the most suitable supplier, according to their gas consumption habits and needs. We deliver natural gas directly from the producers and our main partner today is the Norwegian company Equinor. Elenger is the only natural gas trader in the Baltic region that has secured access to both LNG terminals – the Klaipėda terminal in Lithuania and the Inkoo terminal in Finland. We have planned the delivery of 10 LNG cargoes by autumn and possibly more in the 4th quarter”, says Dāvis Skulte.

Margus Kaasik, Chairman of the Supervisory Council SIA Elenger noted at the press briefing: “The fact that we are starting to offer natural gas to Latvian households is a logical step for our company – for five years Elenger has been operating as one of the leading gas suppliers in the business segment and I am sure that our offer to Latvian households is competitive and the residents will appreciate its benefits. About 400,000 households use natural gas in Latvia, there are significantly more consumers here than in Estonia, so the Latvian household market is very interesting and important for us.”

Elenger’s will offer gas bor both, home heating and hot water heating customers, as well as cooking customers. For heating customers, Elenger offers two packages:
• The flexible package which means a termless contract and suits consumers who want their gas price to follow ongoing market changes and allow for long-term savings;  flexible price from May 1 is 0.06700 EUR/kWh.*
• The fixed package which is concluded for 12 months and is suitable for those who consider the current price level optimal and want to plan their gas costs;  fixed price from May 1 is 0.07700 EUR/kWh.*

Residents have until April 15 to choose a natural gas supplier – to keep the existing one or to switch to a new one.
